Overview
Our Client are a leading communications brand with an outstanding reputation for customer service and value commitment. An opportunity has now arisen for an Acquisition Accountant to join the business for a 6-month contract term in support of a corporate acquisition.
The Acquisition Accountant will support the Finance and Accounting activities for the Acquisition of a target company, responsible for day-to-day acquisition and project activities, while supporting other Finance related activities.Key duties will include:
- PPA accounting support
- Integration activities
- Valuation and transfer of accounting balances
- Aligning all treatment of financial assets with group policies
- Aligning/Mapping acquired company ledger for consolidated group reporting
- Post completion accounts support
- Covenant reporting
- Asset valuation/impairment/write downs
- Debtor strategy - write off/clear/transfer
- Work with external consultants (auditors, tax advisors & PPA consultants)
- Agree all treatments with either: Group Financial Controller, CFO or HoFPA.
- Various other duties, including project-based work
- Assistance with Tax work
The ideal candidate for the role of Acquisition Accountant will have:
- A professional accounting qualification and membership of a recognised professional accounting body or working towards an accounting qualification with significant hands-on accounting or audit experience
- High level of systems, IT and Excel skills
- Strong project/time management skills / Self-motivated and well organised / able to work as part of a team
- Ability to analyse situations effectively and proactively provide solutions
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information to non-financial persons and consider business implications
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Desirable:
- Acquisition Accounting / M&A experience
- Experience working in telecoms or technology sector
- Exposure to accounting packages and systems
