Job description
Overview
We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager for our Douglas-based Client, a leader in fiduciary services, fund administration, and management and investment advice compliance.
In conjunction with the Senior Manager and Manager, the Assistant Manager will:
- Assist with effective and efficient supervision of high and medium impact firms
- Assist HMI completing all deliverables and support HMI as well as other Divisions of the organisation as may be required
- Assist in the delivery of the Supervisory Methodology and all supervisory activity associated with a high and medium impact regulated entities, ensuring the organisation's systems and procedures are correctly followed and utilised
- Assist with the oversight of any external parties appointed by the organisation, and to review and analyse reports made to the organisation, supported by the Manager/ Senior Manager
- Manage the adherence to timeframes imposed on regulated entities and support any remedial measures
- Assist in developing and maintaining systems, procedures and controls and in achieving HMI's objectives
- Assist in preparing risk assessments for regulated entities, in identifying and assessing potential risk trends and supervisory themes, and in undertaking of internal and external stakeholder engagement
- Particpate in supervisory inspections of regulated entities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulated sectors, individual entities, other regulatory agencies, relevant industry bodies and government agencies to reduce threats to regulatory objectives through supervisory practices and information sharing
- Ensure that public enquiries (including complaints against regulated entities) are dealt with timely and efficiently in a courteous and constructive manner
- Produce and otherwise assist with the production of papers and reports on supervisory matters and periodic reports to the Board
- Assist in managing regulatory action, formal enforcement action, referral and ongoing cooperation with other Divisions as they address matters, including suggesting future supervisory action
- Contribute to introduction of new or amended legislation, guidance, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements remain appropriate and comply with international standards
The Ideal candidate for the role of Assistant Manager will be:
- Holds or are working toward a professional qualification relevant to the financial services industry
- Relevant finance sector industry experience in an operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role
- A working knowledge of Financial Services and associated legislation, regulation and guidance
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills, including accuracy, attention to detail, record keeping and filing
- Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team
- Ability to provide administrative support as needed
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
