Overview
We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager (People and Culture) for our Douglas-based Client, a leader in fiduciary services, fund administration, and management and investment advice compliance.
The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Manager will be to support the delivery of key finance and HR functions and, with a particular focus on finance, data management and project support. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, tech-savvy, and passionate about using data and systems to improve people practices.
Duties will include:
- Regularly check the organisation's bank account for payments received and allocation of customer payments using the finance system
- Use the finance system to raise sales invoices, and other functions including to create and amend prospects, and to post journals
- Assist with purchase ledger and payment of invoices as required
- Monitor the Finance Inbox and action emails appropriately
- Assist with the finance month end process and other processes as required
- Deal with internal and external finance queries
- Maintain the day-to-day running of the finance area in the Finance Manager'sabsence
- Undertake ongoing training as required within the finance area
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with all staff within the organisation and other internal Departments
- Organise interviews with candidates and liaise with agencies if required
- Organise follow up correspondence for candidates following the interview process
- Assist with any further duties required by the HR Manager/Head of People & Culture
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives as identified by the People & Culture leadership team, bringing flexibility and a proactive mindset
- Assist with any updates relevant to employment legislation and the Staff Handbook
- Assist in the development of KPIs and metrics to support divisional performance and strategic goals
- Provide research, administrative, and coordination support for initiatives aligned with organisational priorities
The Ideal candidate for the role of Assistant Manager will have:
- Experience working in finance and/or HR support environment
- Experience of working within an office environment and/or as part of a team
- Some working knowledge of essential finance processes, including experience working with finance systems and managing data inputs
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Educated to GCSE level or above and/or equivalent qualification
- Ability and willingness to learn finance /HR processes and gain knowledge of associated legislation
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills, including accuracy, attention to detail and record keeping
- Ability ro work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular proficient use of Excel

- Hold or be willing to work toward a relevant professional qualifications in the field of finance
