Overview

Our Douglas-based firm are an Accounting and Advisory business with an international reach and focus. Owing to continued growth, they now require an additional Audit Senior to join the team.

As Audit Senior you will assist the Audit Manager in planning and executing audit processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role involves supporting the audit team, conducting audits, and helping to develop audit strategies. Specific duties will include:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing internal and external audits
  • Support daily audit operations and ensure compliance with auditing standards
  • Review and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
  • Help ensure compliance with accounting principles, financial regulations, and company policies
  • Assist in managing and mentoring the audit team
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of audit strategies and procedures
  • Identify and assess areas of financial risk and assist in implementing mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies
  • Monitor audit findings and follow up on corrective actions
  • There will be opportunities to work in other areas of the general practice and fiduciaries side of the business such as the preparation of financial statements and get involved with tax compliance such as drafting tax and VAT returns

The ideal candidate for the role of Audit Senior will be:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles and financial reporting regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of how to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
