Overview
Our Client is a leading Douglas-based Trust & Corporate service provider, serving a diverse international customer base. As they enjoy further growth, they require an experienced Client Accounting Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time basis.
Role Profile
The main purpose of this role is the maintenance of accounting records for client companies and trusts.Specifically, you will:
- Input all entries from bank statements and other financial records into Viewpoint accounting package and reconcile the bank accounts
- Requesting and collating financial information from administrators, clients and 3rd parties
- Preparation of client company VAT returns and completion of related bookkeeping. Online filing of IOM and UK VAT returns
- Attending to monthly payroll of Isle of Man and UK employers
- Attending to bookkeeping for a variety of companies including property holding, investment holding, consultancy and trading companies
- Assisting accountants with year-end bookkeeping, as required
- Maintaining FX rates in our Viewpoint accounting package
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects
- Managing all deadlines associated with the job role
- Complying with the Corporate Service Providers and Anti Money-Laundering Legislation on the Isle of Man, including compliance with the guidance notes issued by the regulators and all relevant internal policies and procedures
Person Profile
- Previous experience in the financial services sector
- 5 GCSEs at Grade c or above
- Previous experience in a similar role
- In-depth understanding of double entry bookkeeping for general recording of financial transactions
- Able to develop smooth and constructive relationships with colleagues, outside agencies, organisations and individuals
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent numeracy and verbal/written communication skills
- High level of organisational and prioritisation skills
- Friendly and professional manner
- Good technical abilities
- Able to research and analyse financial information
