Job description

Overview

Our Douglas-based client who is focused on fiduciary services with a reputation for excellence is growing their team and are now seeking a Part-time (circa 15 - 20 hours per week) Credit Controller to join and play a leading role within the firm.In the role of Credit Controller you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the debts of clients
  • Assisting the team with maintaining up-to-date accounting records for the Group of Companies
  • Work with the teams to monitor any write-off and uplifts to ensure effective control and consistency
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and debtors, including negotiating terms of payment
  • Take a proactive role in managing and collecting debtors
  • Ensure timely payments are made
  • Monitor the day-to-day debtor receipts
  • Reconciliation of client balances
  • Process incoming funds and reconcile invoices
  • Check and post receipts to accounting systems
  • Preparation of statements, client status reports and related information as required
  • Resolve account queries and respond to client enquiries
  • Responsibility for investigating variances between monthly budgets and actual results
  • Preparation of ad hoc reporting requested by directors and senior management
  • Assist the Head of Finance with general central finance activities
  • Use best judgement to highlight and report inefficiencies in the business
  • Ensure the effective and efficient day to day operation of the finance team across all Group Companies
  • Provide an ongoing and consistent support to colleagues reliant on the Central Finance Team - focusing sharply on best practice

The ideal candidate for the role of Credit Controller will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance team environment
  • Possess excellent communication skills enabling effective contact at all levels both internal and external
  • Able to plan and carry out own work under general direction
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer applications
  • High degree of flexibility and willingness to help others
  • Friendly and professional manner
  • Have commercial acumen
