Job description

Overview

Our Client is a global specialist in corporate, fund and active wealth services and is looking for a Finance Assistant tosupport the Finance department in delivering day to day financial operations for multiple jurisdictions by ensuring the accounting books and records are kept up-to-date and maintained to a high standard for statutory, regulatory and compliance purposes.

Role Profile

Daily tasks will require cost and general accounting skills in order to assist the Finance Director in maximising the return on financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems.

Key Accountabilities

  • administrative responsibility for a portfolio of trusts, companies and other wealth structures ensuring that first class service is provided to all clients, intermediaries and other stakeholders in support of a client service team

Fees & Billing

  • Accurate recording of entries in general ledger system including posting of cash receipts and credit memos
  • Liaise with client facing team regularly to assist with general billing queries and regular updating of the system to ensure records are correct
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks to assist Fees & Billing function
  • Involvement in managing the Quarterly billing cycle and reporting on billing performance to the Finance Director

Accounts Payable

  • Post and process bank payments
  • Maintain purchase ledger including coding and entry of invoices into the system
  • Reconcile supplier statements with ledger balances
  • Assist with the reconciliation of inter-company balances
  • Deal with ad hoc requests as required

Management Accounting

  • Prepare bank reconciliations of all accounts including foreign currencies
  • Assist in running reports from the system for review by the Finance department
  • Deal with ad hoc tasks to assist the Finance department in meeting monthly management accounting deadlines

Interim & Annual Audit

  • Liaising with external auditors on a regular basis to provide any documents or information required in order to carry out their testing
  • Assist Finance department in delivering Statutory Accounts
  • Managing time effectively to meet deadlines set out by the external auditors

General

  • Deliver a high quality service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaise directly with other members of the business in a professional manner
  • Delivery of commitments in an agreed deadline and to a high standard

Risk

  • Ensure that whilst carrying out duties, risks are monitored against policies and procedures to ensure financial risks are managed effectively

Person Profile

  • Excel skills preferable with the ability to present information
  • Ability to work in a busy team and work to deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Deliver a high quality service to clients will be a key priority and involves building & maintaining relationships with colleagues
  • Be flexible and professional when working under time driven pressures and will have excellent prioritisation & time management skills
  • Self-motivated and focused on exceeding targets & goals
  • Able to articulate concerns and potential areas of improvement
  • Continually seek to improve business practices ensuring best practice is shared

Desirable, but not essential

Experience in the T/CSP is preferable but not essential
