Overview
Our Douglas-based Finance Sector Client are seeking to grow their Client Services function with the addition of a Financial Operations Assistant.
The Finance Operations Assistant will be reporting to the Financial Operations & Treasury Manager, supporting & processing aspects of the Financial Operations & Treasury area.
NOTE: The role is available on a fulltime or reduced hours basis for the suitable candidate.
Here you will be responsible for:
- Processing outgoing payments on behalf of Group companies
- Communicating with vendors throughout the payment process
- Providing a service to other departments in relation to payment processing
- Review accounts payable & accounts receivable processing
- Investigate & remediate reconciliation differences in relation to allocated general ledger accounts
- Support activities to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures for operational efficiency and risk management
- Support servicing areas in addressing any inquiries and questions related to Financial Operations
- Ensure that the Financial Operational activities are executed and delivered as per the standard set out by the company
- Maintain & review financial control framework on all Financial Operations activities
- Provide guidance to staff and team-members and assist in providing technical expertise on Financial Operations processes
- Assist in implementing audit recommendations (both from Internal and External Audit and Compliance if relevant)
The ideal candidate for the role of Finance Operations Assistant will have:
- 1+ years in a similar administrative role
- Experience in analysis, problem solving, and technical writing
- Have an open and collaborative mindset and able to build positive relationships across different departments and levels of the organisation
- Be self-motivated with good time management & organisational skills
- Proven interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience / knowledge of payment processing via banking systems such as Barclays, RBSI or BACS
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Microsoft Excel)
Desirable:
- Compliance and prevention of money laundering knowledge
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of financial processes supporting regulatory reporting for businesses
