Overview

Our highly respected Douglas-based Finance Sector company is seeking to add to their team with the hire an experienced Fund Accountant.

As Fund Accountant you will be working as part of the fund team providing accurate and timely Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and maintenance of the books and records for various fund structures.

Duties will include:

• Accurate and timely production of valuations to relevant accounting standards, legislation, best practice and consistent with procedures
• Accurate and timely NAV calculation
• Internal and external distribution of NAV
• Double entry accounting, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations
• Investment holding, valuation and cash reconciliation
• Undertaking hedging requirements
• Assist the Accounts department with preparation of financial statements and with external audit
• Attending board meetings as necessary
• Production of Fund Administrator's reports and any other reports as deemed necessary
• Act as a point of reference on matters relating to the Administration, Fund Valuation and NAV to any internal or external critical stakeholders
• Maintenance of shareholder records and compliance with all AML requirements, as required
• Review, adherence to, and update of all procedures

The ideal candidate for the role of Fund Accountant will have:

• Proven accounting experience with in the funds industry
• Working knowledge of fund accounting systems
• An understanding of Fund Administration Services applicable to the offshore funds industry
• Final Accounts preparation
• Ability to prepare NAV calculations to recognised accounting standards
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to post and reconcile general ledger systems
• Understanding of compliance and regulatory environment for funds including AML/CFT requirements
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills
• Accurately complete detailed technical work
• Self motivated with a structured approach to work
• Identify and analyse problems by interpreting data available
• A team player with excellent communication skills at all levels
• Willingness to assist, learn, teach, motivate and show initiative at each opportunity
