Overview

Role Profile:

  • Maintain and improve the Client’s core network
  • Define the planning of network upgrades and the associated change management process
  • Put in place the software architecture defined by the development team and draft/implement their IP network architecture
  • Strive to always improve uptime by putting in place better monitoring and by spotting and killing any Single Point of Failure
  • Ensure security is always at the top of the agenda, raise awareness on security risks and take the appropriate actions to mitigate them
  • Manage a diverse technical team
  • Hire, train and coach a team of technical experts
  • Put in place the relevant team KPIs and organisation to make sure the network enjoys the best uptime
  • Manage the infrastructure budget
  • Strive to operate at the lowest cost while maintaining the Company’s quality standards
  • Identify key suppliers (data centres, ISP, software and hardware vendors), negotiate price and agreements
  • Make sure the right cost control approvals and processes are in place
  • Provide the Company with the best IT tools
  • Maintain and improve the IT infrastructure used by internal staff
  • Manage a team of 11 IT Infrastructure Engineers
  • Manage a small team (2) of IT support engineers assisting internal staff with IT issues
  • Define and implement IT policies and processes

Person Profile РMandatory 

  • 10+ years of experience in the technology sector (Telecom, Networking, Cloud Provider…)
  • Proven track record of managing a team of technical experts
  • Software as a Service
  • Network and software virtualisation
  • Automation and monitoring
  • Experience as a tech manager / tech team for a minimum of 3 years
  • IP Networking, systems, security, IT
  • Experience managing operations + production environment
  • Services & Solutions are is up 24/7 so candidates so will come from a background where there is significant Up time
  • ITIL V3 certified
  • Masters degree in IT
  • The ability to communicate effectively technical challenges and solutions
  • Voice: Asterisk, Kamailio
  • System: Apache, Tomcat, MariaDB, Cassandra, Kafka, Elastic Search, Open Stack, Docker
  • Must be able to work in Brussels without a permit

Desirable but not essential:

  • French language skills

Salary Guide: £63,000 Р£81,000 per annum, plus discretionary annual bonus
