Overview
Our Client are a respected local firm of advocates and legal advisors. Enjoying a busy workload, they require a Legal Secretary to support the team, working directly into the Principal.
As Legal Secretary here, worknig within a small team of Secretaries, you will:
- Arrange client appointments and maintain Court and fee earner diaries
- Record time and capture file notes of time on the in-house time recording application
- Legal Aid billing of files - need meticulous attention to get the claims correct and files in order
- Filing for 3 fee earners divided equally between 2 Secretaries
- Audiotyping of letters, Court and legal documents
- Taking turns so the post is delivered and collected from the post box at Court
- Occasional deliveries to the local area
- Answering inbound phone calls, dealing with clients face to face
- Copying and certifying client KYC, completing conveyancing search forms
- Sending out conveyancing quotes (training will be given) and conveyancing admin
- Archiving files, preparation and copying of Court bundles, keeping log of outgoing post
- Green Form billing
- Weekly search of the database for unlocated Wills enquiries via the Law Society
The ideal candidate for the role of Legal Secretary will be:
- Previous experience in a secretarial role, ideally within a legal setting
- Accurate typing skills
- Ability to maintin confidentiality in all business matters
- Able to work well within a team, collaborating and prioritising workload together
- Attention to detail
Desirable:
- Previous Audio typing experience
NOTE: AML training will be provided via an online Law Society course
