Job description
Overview
Our Douglas-based Accounting & Advisory Client are expanding its team to help manage an expanding customer base and organic workload growth. To support this, they are seeking an experienced Management Accountant.
Job Purpose
To deal effectively solely with all day to day accounting for all companies under the group structure, incorporating maintenance of Accounting systems, Quickbooks and CCH, and in so doing produce monthly, quarterly and annual information for financial accounts purposes.
Role Profile
- Supervise and train junior staff regarding day to day banking and processing, especially prompt banking of incoming cheques
- Monthly routines for processing period end reports and reconciliation of all control accounts
- Quarterly routines to enable directors to produce management accounts within a defined timetable
- Organise and prepare for monthly debtors meeting including circulating reports
- Maintain bank reconciliations for office accounts and reconciliations for uncleared items
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Maintenance of bought ledger, ensuring that incoming invoices are properly approved and processed and eventually paid by BACS where possible
- Ad hoc accounting tasks from time to time as agreed, including monthly cash flow forecasts, non chargeable reports, wip and debtors control
- Administer and process the company pension scheme. This includes input of all information direct to Aviva
- Administer and process company payroll and ITIP payments arising therefrom
- Be responsible for office salaries, inputs and outputs, and dealing with MCB as necessary
- Have overall supervisory responsibility for credit control procedures and delegate day to day responsibility wherever possible
- Attending Board Meetings and writing up Minutes
Person Profile
- Relevant Professional Qualification
- In-depth knowledge and a minimum of 1 years' experience of management accounting practice
- Familiar with offshore financial services, technologies and regulatory environments
- Excellent leadership skills
- Effective influencing skills and an ability to lead within own functional area
- Evidence of role modelling effective skills as a team player and promoting teamwork and collaboration amongst others
