Job description
Overview
Our Client, a large firm of Chartered Accountants and TCSP is seeking a Manager to join their busy general accountancy practice and corporate service provider.
The Manager will:
- Oversee a small team of up to 5 people and will report directly to a Director.
- You will be assigned their own portfolio of clients for whom you will provide client facing support
- Responsible for overseeing all matters relating to client relationships and engagements that are assigned to you. This will include a variety of assignments from both the general accountancy practice and trust service provider, including ensuring timely preparation of financial statements and overseeing and checking of taxation and VAT returns and assessments. Additionally, this will involve administration of companies which will vary greatly between clients
- Communication between the Manager, and the Director is key, so you are required to ensure they are kept aware and consulted on all pertinent client matters
- Review work and will organise and coordinate the assignment of work for junior staff. This will include assisting, supervising, training and providing technical support to junior members of the team
- Attend internal planning meetings to ensure the service needs of their clients can be met and also be involved in conducting appraisals and bi-monthly reviews
- Responsible for ensuring that clients adhere to the firms' compliance procedures and so they can expect to liaise with the Compliance team to ensure appropriate due diligence and know your client forms are held
- Develop connections with other industry professionals with whom the company work such as bankers, stockbrokers, investment advisors, lawyers and tax advisors. Attendance at some networking events is required to support development of these relationships
The ideal candidate for the role of Manager will be:
- Qualified ACA or ACCA from a training in Practice
- An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills who is able to lead and help train more junior members of staff
- Applies discretion, diplomacy and a confident approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Commercial awareness and a client focused mindset
