Job description
Overview
We are currently seeking a Manager (Enhanced Supervision) for our Douglas-based Client, a leader in fiduciary services, fund administration, and management and investment advice compliance.
The primary responsibilities of the Manager will be to ensure the effective and efficient supervision of regulated entities that are subject to enhanced supervision and assist in ensuring the Enhanced Supervision team in completing all deliverables.
Wider duties will include:
- Support the HMI Supervision team, as well as other Divisions of the organisation
- Assist in the delivery of the Supervisory Methodology centred on risk-based supervision of regulated entities subject to enhanced supervision, ensuring the organisation's systems and procedures are correctly followed and utilised
- Oversee the work of third party appointments, to support the enhanced supervision process and any remedial measures. This will include reviewing, analysing and reporting on reports received by the Enhanced Supervision team
- Manage the adherence to timeframes imposed on regulated entities in enhanced supervision
- Support supervisory inspection teams in respect of Regulated Entities in Enhanced Supervision
- Prepare and manage allocated Enhanced Supervision remediation plans and regulatory action, taking into consideration the organisation's statutory powers in cases requiring intervention. As required, support other Divisions to address matters
- Participate in the organisation's processes and functions, as required, to support the Enhanced Supervision team
- Maintain and recommend improvements to Enhanced Supervision processes and procedures
- Identify and assess potential risk trends and supervisory themes
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulated sectors and where applicable individual entities, other regulatory agencies, relevant industry bodies and government agencies
- Produce and otherwise assist with the production of papers and reports on enhanced supervisory matters and periodic reports to the Board
- Develop key relationships both domestically and internationally to reduce threats to regulatory objectives through sound supervisory practices and information sharing
- Contribute to the introduction of new or amended legislation, guidance, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements remain appropriate and comply with international standards
The Ideal candidate for the role of Manager will have:
- Extensive finance sector industry experience in an operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role
- A working knowledge of Financial Services and associated legislation, regulation and guidance
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information, to consider any associated risks and to summarise the information effectively
- Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of varied complexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines
- Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels including the ability to influence and negotiate
