Overview
Our Client are an internationally renowned engineering business, who are enjoying continued growth across many departments. They are now seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly successful team.
As a Manufacturing Engineer here you will:
- Interpret customer drawings, CAD models and specifications
- Create and maintain production methods including validation of capability to original scope and final customer requirements
- Provide NPI feasibility estimations and prove-out validation
- Support the business with technical and operator training for and existing machining processes
- Work with cross function teams to develop new project roll outs
- Provide technical support to customers, production cells and project teams
- Define process flow for new and current projects using manufacturing system design tools and methodology
- Work effectively within a cross functional team to develop and produce manufacturing processes in line with existing guidelines, on time and within budget
The ideal candidate for the role of Manufacturing Engineer wil have:
- Strong fundamentals in CAD, CAD/CAM and CNC programming
- Proven track record of defining and delivering efficient CNC machining processes for a wide range of 2 thru 5-axis work centres
- Have good understanding of aerospace manufacturing systems
- Knowledge of EdgeCam, Vericut, Mazatrol and Fanuc G code
- Efficient use of 3D CAD systems e.g. Solidworks
- Experience in Fixture design
- Strong problem-solving/FMEA skills
- Exposure to Six Sigma with demonstration of lean implementation and sustainability
- Good knowledge of tooling applications and machining methods
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding databases and the Microsoft Office suite of software
