Overview
Our Client are an internationally renowned engineering business, who are enjoying continued growth across many departments. They are now seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join a highly successful team.
This role is responsible for the design, construction, and evaluation of new and existing job routings within an aerospace manufacturing environment. Data analysis and understanding of specifications, safe working practices and manufacturing improvement strategies are key areas of focus.
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer here you will:
- Generate and maintain workable and capable manufacturing routings and processes
- Interpretation of customer drawings, CAD models and specifications and implementation effective flow-down of customer requirements
- Working individually and collaboratively to evaluate product design for manufacturability, machine choice and tooling solutions in line with the manufacturing strategy
- Change Control and specification governance for manufactured parts
- Provide front line technical support to manufacturing personnel
- Develop practices, routines, and solutions to help improve productivity and product quality
- Conducting root cause analysis, data analysis, and implementing corrective actions and containment activities
- Definition of technical specifications in support of component procurement
- Act as an MRP/ERP super-user and provide valuable support to various internal and external stakeholders
- Act as a point-of-contact/liaison between internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
- Resolve any specification queries from suppliers and to provide final verification on material size and specification
- Administrate technical changes of internal and external processes/specifications
The ideal candidate for the role of Manufacturing Process Engineer will be someone with an analytical mindset, keen to work on MRP/ERP systems, who is computer literate, and finds problem solving and continuous improvement rewarding. The position is highly process regulated and required meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, you would ideally have:
- Data Analysis - proficient with Microsoft Excel analysis methods, programming capability an advantage
- Quality Awareness - Can demonstrate understanding of process definition and adherence
- Environmental Awareness - Has a good knowledge of the business environment; can work within a health and safety culture
- Design Experience - able to understand, interpret , and construct CAD models using SolidWorks or similar would be a distinct advantage
- Engineering Experience - Engineering degree, data Analysist, Configuration Management, or lab analysis type background would be ideal
- Demonstrates energy, commitment, drive & follow through that delivers high quality results
- Takes initiative - is proactive in developing new ways of working, challenges the status quo
- Accountability, willing to take responsibility for decisions
- Self-confident, maintains high standards
- Collaborative approach to projects
- Develops effective relationships within a diverse team setting
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience in an aerospace Engineering/manufacturing environment would be preferred but is not essential
