Job description
Overview
Our client are a leading Isle of Man-based firm of Advocates with divisions across the legal arena and are now seeking a Part Qualified Accountant to join and become an integral part of the team.
In the role of Part Qualified Accountant will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and managing day-to-day financial transactions, including receipts and payments, to ensure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes
- Preparing accurate and timely VAT and tax returns, playing a critical role in keeping the firm compliant and informed
- Producing financial statements that don't just tick boxes - they help tell the story of the business to internal and external stakeholders
- Handling bank reconciliations - not just preparing them, but reviewing and investigating to ensure integrity across our accounts
- Liaising with stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior management, supporting both recurring financial processes and one-off strategic projects
- Supporting key financial reporting points throughout the year, such as budgeting cycles and interim reporting, with detailed and insightful analysis
- Reconciling various balance sheet accounts, identifying variances and helping drive the accuracy of our general ledger
- Playing an active role in audits, from preparing comprehensive year-end files and working trial balances to liaising with external auditors and providing key evidence
The ideal candidate for the role of Part Qualified Accountant will be:
- Part-qualified in ACCA or ACA (or an equivalent qualification)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a genuine passion for finance
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to embrace new challenges and expand your expertise
