Overview
Our Douglas based client are seeking to recruit an Payroll & Expenses Clerk to join them for a 12-month FTC to cover the role for maternity cover.
Role Profile
Payroll
- Processing weekly payroll - starters, leavers, salary increases, changes in hours
- Calculate SMP, SPP. SSP and SAP entitlements
- Reconciliation and payment preparation of third-party payments such as Court Orders and PAYE
- Produce payslips and T21's
- Ensure statutory deductions are reconciled and paid to IOM Treasury on a monthly basis
- Manual Tax calculations
- Checking and reviewing payroll entries
- Preparation of scheduled reports
- Dealing directly with employee queries
Expenses (subcontractors)
- Organise / collate all incoming Subcontractor Payment Certificates
- Ensure correct approvals obtained prior to processing, liaising with Site Managers/Colleagues as required
- Inputting Certificate details, ensuring VAT is correctly applied
- Undertake reconciliations, addressing/resolving email and telephone queries as required
- Compiling reports as required; organise / collate back up to support payment runs; monitor and clear down unallocated cash
- Organise / archive paid certificates accordingly
Person Profile
- Previous experience in operating IOM Payroll is required
- Previous experience in payment of subcontractors or similar desirable but training will be given
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work to deadlines
- Attention to detail is essential
- Motivated and positive attitude
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of the construction industry would be an advantage but not essential
