Job description
Overview
Our leading Financial Services Sector Client is continuing a high growth trajectory, coupled with an ambitious transformation programme. They are now seeking a Risk Technician to assist with developing and delivering Enterprise Risk Management across the organisation, including to our colleagues in regional offices.
Role Profile
- Contribute to, and develop the Risk function's reporting and governance responsibilities
- Collate and review data on risks, risk events, monitoring of performance against risk appetite, regulatory developments, compliance monitoring and financial crime to provide insightful commentary to Boards and Committees
- Perform ongoing analysis of risk data to assure and develop its completeness, relevance, and integrity,
- Develop scenario analyses for ORSA production
- Oversee 1st line risk and event capture, escalation and reporting across the International business
- Oversee and advise on Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA)
- Support work undertaken within the Risk Function in line with the Enterprise Risk Policy
- Promote a risk aware culture within the International business
- Undertake risk assurance activity in line with the agreed plan
- Work with the International Business to develop and maintain a suite of indicators that can be used to monitor and report upon risk
- Establish, foster, and maintain good relationships with all levels of staff across International to promote a risk aware culture
- Provide proactive challenge to the 1st line on current and future initiatives, influencing the outcome to optimise the balance between risk and reward
Person Profile
- Preferable to have experience working in financial services and a Risk function in particular
- Reasonable working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Someone prepared to 'live' the Core Values

- Ability to work on own initiative
- Be professionally and personally prepared to 'stand up' for what is right (being brave)
- Team player (with the ability to work independently as necessary)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage others in the risk agenda of the business.
- To be practised at extracting and sharing relevant information to improve wider understanding of Risk Management Positive attitude to achieving individual, team and company goals

- Computer literate in Microsoft office
- Awareness of IOM FSA and FCA regulations
- In depth specialist knowledge of risk management techniques and tools gained through experience
- Preferable to be graduate calibre
- A Risk Management qualification or working towards one
