Overview
Our client are a highly respected, multi-site firm of Solicitors serving clients nationally. Serving a diverse range of sectors, they are trusted advisors and recognised experts in their field, taking pride in building long standing relationships. The team are now seeking an experienced Senior Associate - Private Client to join them.
As Senior Associate you will
- Providing legal advice to a range of clients including the negotiation and drafting of documentation
- Management of Client/Matter files
- Carrying out in an effective, efficient and timely manner the various stages of legal proceedings with the aim of protecting the interests of the client
- Provide legal advice to a range of clients, including the negotiation and drafting of documentation.
- Assume responsibility for important elements of the work that is handled by a designated Partner
- Operate effectively with clients and their professional and financial advisers - managing specific fields
- Work under the direction of a Partner and receive assignments with specified objectives
- Adapting to a broad range of situations and circumstances and remaining calm under pressure
- Undertake marketing and business development initiatives
- Management of client/matter files
- Management of fee income and collection of bills
- Discretion and the capacity to respect client confidentiality
- Meeting agreed targets for chargeable time, fee income generated, billing and fee collection
- Proactively developing new business opportunities from internal cross-referrals, existing clients and other professionals
- Meeting agreed targets and exhibit a commercial approach to financial management
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Associate will:
- Experience of working in Private client team across a range of clients
- An understanding of the Private Client sector and an appreciation of the specific needs of this client group
- Able to act independently to a reasonably high level, but also to work with more experience Partners and Fee Earners on more complex and specialised matters as required
- Handling a diverse range of issues
- A sound knowledge of the law requisite for working in a Private Client team
- Have a positive approach to teamwork and an ability to develop relationships
- Have the ability to adapt to a broad range of circumstances and remain calm under pressure
- Have flexibility and ambition
- Have a strong desire to learn and widen knowledge
- Have the ability to act independently to a reasonably high level, but also to work with more experienced partners and fee earners on more complex and specialised matters, as required
- Have experience of building relationships with both new and existing clients and professionals, as well as a natural ability to promote marketing and business development initiatives in a dynamic way
- Possess good communication skills in order to explain legal matters clearly to clients
- Be discrete and have the ability to respect client confidentiality
- Be able to tackle tasks in a structured manner to ensure completion to a high standard
- Demonstrate solid organisation and time management skills
- Have experience of working in a team and the ability to develop relationships with colleagues
- Have proven drafting skills and attention to detail
- Possess sound problem-solving skills
