Overview
Our leading Financial Services Sector Client is enjoying tremendous growth and have ahead of them an exciting transformation and business portfolio. To support these endeavours, they require an experienced Senior Investment Operations person to join a high performing team.
Role Profile
- Lead projects and implement plans to support non-business as usual initiatives and workflows - ad-hoc or otherwise - and ensure progression to meet agreed deadlines
- Involvement in third party relationships such as with fund managers, custodians and data vendors
- Support system enhancements and testing and actively engage to consider and implement future improvements
- Understand and ensure application of the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles in all aspects of the role, helping team members to do the same
- Ensure Data Protection requirements are met andcompliance and regulatory legislation requirements are met and adhered to
- Help lead the team in a collaborative and constructive manner
- Act as technical expert in all areas relating to systems, procedures and queries
- Check work in a timely manner and proactively train, coach and mentor to drive development of individuals
- Continually consider the potential risks of the area and ways to improve the controls in place to mitigate them
- Continually consider and drive efficiency opportunities within the area
- Identify, report and manage issues to resolution
Person Profile
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Financial Services
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in the Life Assurance industry
- Experience within an investment related role
- Proven experience of dealing with external parties such as fund managers,custodians, and financial advisers
- Good understanding of securities and investments
- Good understanding of investment instruments, e.g. equities, bonds, collective investment Schemes, investment trusts, etc.
- Competent understanding of domestic and international banking systems
- Competent knowledge of local and international settlement markets including international custody systems, e.g. CREST
- Strong knowledge of company systems and reporting capabilities
- Competent working knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation
- Competent knowledge of Utmost products
- Minimum of 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) grade C or above, including English and Mathematics
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Have achieved or be studying towards a professional qualification, e.g. Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)
- Formal qualifications in finance or a business related subject to 'A' level standard or higher
