Job description
Overview
Our Douglas based client are seeking to recruit an experienced Site Clerk to join the team and will be reporting to the Site Manager.
Role profile
- Ensure everyone is logged in and out of site
- Carry out site safety inductions and keep records of same
- Keep safety files updated
- Help enforce PPE policy and provide necessary Site Supervision when required
- Monitor welfare facilities and ensure accommodation is kept clean
- Keep adequate stock of PPE and ensure First Aid Kit is kept stocked
- Request PPE for site personnel and issue when required
- Keep and issue COSHH information with appropriate substances
- Issue appropriate PPE when handing out power tools
- Help manage site security (perimeter fencing/compound/individual houses) and record.
- Liaise with Site Safety Advisor regarding the erection of safety signage and posters and monitor
- Monitor and control parking on site
- Act as one of the "appointed First Aiders" when trained up to do so
- Act as a Fire Marshall when trained to do so
- Assist with the testing and inspection of the site Fire Alarm and record findings
- Assist in the testing and inspection of the Electrical circuits in temporary accommodation and record findings
- Get everyone to sign in and out for power tools and check items before issuing
- Collate "Weekly Plant Defect" sheets and forward same to Plant Manager/QS department
- Liaise with Plant Manager regarding plant requirements or breakdowns
- Ensure keys for plant are signed in and out daily
- Ensure generators are being properly maintained and are made secure when not in use
- Monitor diesel levels in diesel tank daily
- Ensure Scaffold quantities are updated with the compound
- Fill in and monitor timesheets for site labour/scaffolders/plant operators etc when required
- Liaise with all other site staff, sub-contractors and directly employed labour as needs be
- Liaise with the various service companies when required to do so by the Site Manager
- Direct general site labour as needs be by allocating tasks, monitoring performance and ensuring tasks are satisfactorily completed
- Print off and issue design information as and when required
Person Profile
- Be a good communicator
- Be self-confident
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Word
- Have a basic knowledge (at least) of Excel
Training in the following areas will be given:
- 1st Aid training
- CITB 5-Day Site Management training
