Overview
Our Client are a leading Utilities business with a dedicated team delivering safe, reliable and economic multi-utility supplies and services (electricity, clean water, waste water collection and treatment, natural gas transmission and telecoms). They are now seeking a Trainee Smart Meter Technician to join them on a 2-year fixed term contract. nd Gas division.
Reporting to the Smart Metering Manager, the Trainee Smart Meter Technician will undergo full training and will:
- Provide a quality service to customers and deal with them in a professional and courteous way
- Ensure health, safety and wellbeing is a priority in all that you do
- Connect and disconnect metered supplies
- Install, test, and disconnect all types of single phase metering equipment
- Drive vehicles safely, clean them, carry out road worthiness checks, and maintain vehicle stock
- Participate in training as required to maintain or achieve necessary skills to undertake duties
- Undertake out of hours standby duties on a rota when required
The ideal candidate for the role of Trainee Smart Meter Technician will have:
- An interest in and aptitude for either mechanical engineering, electronics, or systems
- Hold a full, valid driving licence
- Be computer literate
- Be self-motivated & diligent individual with high personalstandards
- Have a willingness to continuously develop by undergoing new andrefresher training, review and assessment across a range ofrelevant subjects
- Strong interpersonal skills, and are adaptable and cooperative, focused on achieving teamobjectives
- Able to work independently when required. while having a proactive, flexible and "can do" attitude
Desirable, but not essential:
- Hold a relevant engineering sector qualification
- Knowledge of Low Voltage systems and equipment
- Engineering sector experience
