Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Architect to undertake a 2-year fixed term assignment with our Douglas-based Client, a leader in fiduciary services, fund administration, and management and investment advice compliance.

The Data Architect will:

• Collaborate with other teams within the Authority and other departments to assess stakeholder needs and goals, to document the requirements, and devise appropriate data strategies
• Translate business requirements into appropriate solutions, including suitable database structures and reporting mechanisms
• Undertake the development of required databases, models, and reports, collaborating with internal teams, departments and external suppliers where required
• Analyse, plan, and define data architecture frameworks, including appropriate security and compliance requirements
• Create and implement data management processes and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of data
• Research opportunities to improve existing data acquisition and management processes, producing recommendations as appropriate
• Use of, and where relevant, design and development of, application programming interfaces (APIs) to access data
• Contribute to the continued development and implementation of the data warehouse project
• Champion the effective use of structured data to provide business intelligence and support decision making
• Explore innovation opportunities to support the organisat in achieving its objectives and long term goals
• System development and support including: a) assisting with the continued development of the back office supervision system (customised Microsoft Dynamics CRM/365), and b) act as a subject matter expert for the development of the system dashboards to support improved workload management

The ideal candidate for the role of Data Architect will have:

• Holds, or is working towards, a professional qualification in a relevant field, or certification in specific technologies or practices (such as AWS/Azure/Google Cloud, Data Management Professional, data architecture and modelling)
• Extensive experience in a related professional role, such as data architect or data modelling, design and management role

• SQL, SQL Management Studio and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and multi dimensional data cubes
• Data modelling: design and management
• Data mining: cleansing, warehousing and visualization
• Machine learning
• Business intelligence and reporting including design of effective dashboards
• Data security and compliance
• System testing (including UAT)
