Electrical Technician (O912977)

Overview

Our Client are a leading Utilities business with a dedicated team delivering safe, reliable and economic multi-utility supplies and services (electricity, clean water, waste water collection and treatment, natural gas transmission and telecoms). They are now seeking an experienced Electrical Technician within the power generation team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support for the maintenance requirements of plant and equipment.

Duties will include:

• Work as part of a working party, as a team leader or independently
• When qualified, undertake planned and unplanned maintenance on plant and equipment
• When qualified, undertake planned installation and commissioning of plant and equipment
• Carry out inspection and testing on plant and equipment
• Undertake fault investigation, reporting on condition and recommending remedial work
• Assist with the planning, scheduling and actioning maintenance on plant and equipment
• Compile appropriate documentation for planned or unplanned maintenance tasks
• Use maintenance management system to record maintenance faults and tasks
• Provide supervision and mentoring for staff at equivalent or lower grades
• Undertake training, review & assessment
• Where qualified drive Manx Utilities vehicles and mobile plant

The ideal candidate for the role of Electrical Technician will have:

• Have electrical maintenance experience
• Will be a time served electrical craftsman or equivalent and have a minimum of NVQ, BTEC or equivalentat a QCF level 3 in a relevant electrical discipline
• Qualified or willing to undertake training for current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• Competent in IT skills
• Have strong interpersonal skills and able to work as a team member or independently
• Is self-motivated and able to use initiative
• Hold a valid Driving Licence
