Overview

Our Client, a large firm of Chartered Accountants and TCSP is seeking a Trainee Accountant studying towards the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification within a busy general accountancy practice and corporate service provider.

As a Trainee Accountant, you will be involved in many aspects within the practice, including:

• Liaison with third party institutions such as banks, brokers and rental agents
• Bookkeeping including inputting client records
• Preparation of accounting schedules & accounts files, financial statements, and investment schedules
• Preparation of management information for clients
• Preparation of personal tax computations and returns, corporate tax computations and returns.
• Preparation of VAT computations and returns

The ideal Trainee for this role will have either excellent A' level results or GCSEs at grades A / B, including mathematics. Wider requirements include:

• Ambitious and determined to study to complete the challenging CAT qualification
• Prior office experience is an advantage
• Diligent and hard working with a willingness to learn
• A strong communicator with good organisational skills
• Discretion, diplomacy and a confident approach are a must
• Willing to learn and to take on responsibility and ownership of tasks
• Excellent attention to detail
