Job description

Overview

Our Douglas-based client are part of a global financial services group, with a growing demand for the products and services within the commercial and domestic insurance market. In order to manage growth within the team, they require an Individual Account Coordinator.

The role of the Individual Account Coordinator is to proactively manage the retention of existing individual business portfolio business as well as the acquisition of new clients , primarily in the Isle of Man but in other markets where required. Responsible for the smooth day to day operation of the portfolio and positive interaction with other departments and teams. Here you will:

  • Manage the individual client book including renewal processes, ensuring clients needs are met and that policies are renewed, working to a 100% client retention target
  • Generate and convert new business opportunities, whilst maintaining renewals of existing portfolio
  • Promote the company brand and develop presence as the leading Healthcare Insurance advisor in the islands, working with local healthcare professionals / organisations as required
  • Ensure accuracy of advice given, working to strict compliance guidelines
  • Work closely with suppliers (insurers) to ensure client needs are met; pricing, service levels, claims issues
  • Learn current market products and to keep abreast of developments in product offerings, both domestically and internationally
  • Manage telephone calls, enquiries and requests, providing advice when appropriate
  • Regular written and verbal client correspondence - both incoming and outgoing
  • Produce monthly reports, briefing papers, reports and presentations
  • Carry out background research to assist with future strategy
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers and other team members
  • Work closely with the Healthcare Coordinator / Exec team to ensure the smooth running of the client portfolio
  • Occasional travel to other islands / UK to client / team / supplier meetings

The ideal candidate for the role of Individual Account Coordinator will be:

  • Proficient in Microsoft packages including word, outlook, power point and excel
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Be customer and delivery focused
  • Be strong analytically and a confident decision maker
  • Strong organisation skills and able to work with others

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Holds a relevant CII professional qualification (or equivalent level of education)
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable but not essential
